2011 RESEARCH GRANT PROGRAM
The Foundation is now accepting applications for the 2011 Research Grant Program.

DEADLINE:
Closing date for applications for the 2011 research grant is Monday 31 October, 2011
(late applications will NOT be accepted).
All submissions must be lodged by email to nickdanes@usanz.org.au
The following conditions apply to ANZSCTS Foundation Grants:
1. The Australian Tax Office requires that for recipients (Ordinary, New Zealand and Senior Members of the ANZSCTS) to receive a Foundation, grants must be associated with a Deductible Gift Recipient and are an Eligible Charity (Section 7K of the Charities Act 1978 (VIC).
2. The grant must be taken up and expended in Australia or New Zealand.
3. Applicants must be financial members of the ANZSCTS (except Overseas Members)
4. The recipient of the grant should report to the Foundation each year on the progress
of their research.
5. On completion of the project a report of the ANZSCTS Foundation Sponsored Research should be given as an oral presentation at the Annual ANZSCTS Scientific Meeting and at the completion of the project, a final report must be presented to the Foundation

| Prior to submission of an application for grant funding, applicants are to ensure they have read all relevant information and the application form . Here are a list of Frequently Asked Questions: When is the deadline for close of applications? Applications must be received, electronically, by the published closing date of 31 October 2011. Late applications will NOT be accepted When will successful applicants be advised? Applications will be considered by the grants review committee with recommendations to the Executive. Successful applicants will be notified once a decision has been made. . Do I need to be a member of the Australian and New Zealand Society of Cardiac and Thoracic Surgeons ? Yes, applicants must be financial members of the ANZSCTS. The grant must be taken up and expended in Australia or New Zealand. What format should I submit my grant in? Electronically, via email Do I need to include referees with my application? Yes, all applications must include names and contact details of 2 referees. It is the applicants' responsibility to ensure referees' contact details are correct. Is GST applicable to grants? The grant amounts are exclusive of GST. |
